The Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC), in collaboration with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), organised the Cambodia–Vietnam Trade Meeting on June 8, 2026, in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The event was held on the sidelines of Prime Minister Hun Manet's official visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and his participation in the 3rd ASEAN Future Forum in Hanoi.

The meeting brought together business leaders, investors, and representatives of leading enterprises from both countries to explore investment opportunities and expand strategic business partnerships.

Speaking at the event, Oknha Kith Meng, President of the CCC and Chairman of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council for Cambodia, highlighted that diplomatic relations between Cambodia and Vietnam, established in 1967, have served as a driving force in strengthening economic cooperation and transforming the two countries into increasingly important economic partners.

He noted that Vietnam remains Cambodia’s leading trading partner within ASEAN and recalled that both governments have set a target of achieving USD 20 billion in bilateral trade volume. According to him, this ambitious goal can be achieved in the near future through close cooperation and joint economic development.

Oknha Kith Meng also called on the governments of both countries to facilitate cross-border trade procedures and upgrade all border checkpoints to international standards.

Nguyen Quang Vinh, Vice Chairman of the VCCI, congratulated both sides on their close business ties and expressed confidence in the strong potential for further cooperation across multiple sectors.

He also highlighted the longstanding cooperation between VCCI and the CCC, describing it as an important bridge connecting the business communities of the two countries.

Furthermore, he outlined three priority areas for future cooperation:

  • Enhancing market connectivity to reach Vietnam’s more than 100 million consumers;
  • Developing joint value chains;
  • Organising joint training programmes to strengthen the capacity of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Business-to-business meetings were also held during the event, allowing entrepreneurs and investors from both countries to engage directly and discuss opportunities in key sectors.

Both sides agreed to maintain close relations and encourage active participation of the private sectors of Cambodia and Vietnam.
