The Fullbright and Undergraduate State Alumni Association of Cambodia (FUSAAC), with the support of The Embassy of the United States of America, organised the annual “Major and Career Fair 2026” on June 28, 2026, at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC), under the distinguished presidency of H.E. Dr Pich Chanmony, Permanent Vice President of the Cambodian Red Cross and Chief Commissioner of the Girl Guides Association of Cambodia.

Held under the theme “Career in Transition”, the primary objective of Major and Career Fair 2026 was to provide opportunities for young people, particularly high school and university students, to explore higher education, institutions and related educational organisations, as well as scholarship, internship, and employment opportunities.

Each year, the event attracts an average of approximately 2,500 participants and features keynote speeches, exhibition booths, presentations, workshops, and panel discussions that bring together participants and professionals from key sectors.

Delivering her opening remarks, H.E. Dr Pich Chanmony expressed her belief that the Major and Career Fair provides a great opportunity for students to receive academic guidance, career orientation advice and be exposed to knowledge-sharing from professionals. She noted that valuable events and programmes like this did not exist even just 10 years ago.

“This exhibition is not just a fair, it acts as a gateway to opportunities for students to learn, explore, and see new options,” she said. “Importantly, it helps youth clearly consider choices regarding their education, specialised skills, and their future.”

H.E. Dr Pich Chanmony also stressed the importance of continuous learning that doesn't end at simply getting a degree:

“Getting a degree isn't the end of learning. Continuous learning and modernising skills is true education, because workplaces and technology are changing daily. We must always update our knowledge.”

As Cambodia moves toward upper-middle-income status by 2030, building a skilled and future-ready workforce remains a national priority. However, gaps between education and labour market demands persist, particularly in digital, technical, and industry relevant skills.

The event's theme, “Career in Transition”, reflects Cambodia’s evolving landscape, where digital transformation, economic diversification, and global integration are reshaping the future of work. It also highlighted the importance of empowering local talent as the foundation of sustainable growth and national strength, and emphasised the need for greater awareness and preparedness for changes in career development driven by the evolution of technology, economic transformation, and emerging work environments.
