eMoney has celebrated its 8th anniversary under the theme "eMoney – New Chapter Begins," marking an important milestone in the growth of one of Cambodia's leading digital financial platforms while reaffirming its commitment to innovation, expanding its service ecosystem, and supporting the country's digital transformation journey.
Established in 2018, eMoney was founded with the mission of bringing digital financial services closer to people across Cambodia and improving access to modern financial solutions. Over the past eight years, the platform has steadily expanded its operations, developed a nationwide partner network, and diversified its services, including digital payments, money transfers, mobile top-ups, bill payments, and a wide range of other digital financial solutions.
In 2020, eMoney operated approximately 8,000 service points and had 1.2 million registered e-wallets. By 2026, its network had grown to more than 15.000 service points, serving more than 1 million active eWallet users.
Alongside its network expansion, eMoney has continued to enhance service quality by integrating with the Bakong payment system, expanding QR code payment acceptance, and strengthening partnerships with banks, businesses, and various domestic organizations. These initiatives have contributed to promoting cashless payments, improving financial inclusion, and meeting the increasingly diverse digital financial needs of Cambodian consumers.
As a member of the Metfone digital ecosystem, eMoney shares the group's commitment to sustainable development, customer-centric innovation, and delivering meaningful value to the community. Beyond its business operations, Metfone has contributed more than USD 1 billion to the Royal Government of Cambodia over nearly two decades of operations and invested over USD 120 million in education, healthcare, social welfare, and community development initiatives. These long-term contributions provide a strong foundation for ecosystem members, including eMoney, to continue supporting Cambodia's socio-economic development.
Speaking at the anniversary celebration, an eMoney representative stated that the eight-year milestone is not only an opportunity to reflect on the company's achievements but also the beginning of a new phase of growth. Looking ahead, eMoney will continue investing in technology, enhancing customer experience, expanding its digital financial services ecosystem, and strengthening partnerships to deliver more convenient, secure, and efficient digital solutions for both individuals and businesses.
Guided by innovation, a customer-first approach, and a commitment to sustainable development, eMoney looks forward to continuing its contribution to Cambodia's digital transformation, advancing the digital economy, and supporting the country's long-term development in the years ahead.
