In the era of digital transformation, where artificial intelligence (AI) and innovation are redefining global economic trends, preparing human resources to keep pace is an absolute necessity. On July 25 and 26, 2026, Tech for Kids Academy successfully hosted the national summit, RISE Week 2026 (Regional Innovation for STEM & Entrepreneurship Week), achieving remarkable success at the American University of Phnom Penh (AUPP).
The event was presided over by H.E. Dr. San Vathana, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS), representing H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of MoEYS, alongside H.E. Chun Vat, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC), representing H.E. Dr. Chea Vandeth, Minister of MPTC. The summit also welcomed the presence of ministry leaders, development partners, educators, parents, and a massive crowd of enthusiastic students.
The event served as a crucial platform for knowledge exchange, promoting technological innovation, and fostering entrepreneurship. Two Secretaries of State personally engaged with young innovators during the event, underscoring the Cambodian government's commitment to advancing STEM education, digital literacy, and youth capacity building in the Kingdom.
RISE Week 2026 Highlights
Over the course of two days, RISE Week 2026 demonstrated the full potential of Cambodian students to transform themselves from "technology consumers" to "solution creators". During the national pitch competition of Technovation x Future Digital Talents, students presented mobile applications and AI solutions they researched and developed to address pressing issues within their communities.
Meanwhile, Coolest Projects Cambodia, held in collaboration with the UK-based Raspberry Pi Foundation, brought international-standard learning content and tech educational resources to Cambodia. Furthermore, Game Quests 2026 attracted widespread attention as students showcased video games they built entirely from scratch, a process requiring seamless collaboration across coding skills, creativity, and logical problem-solving.
Beyond showcasing projects, RISE Week 2026 acted as a vital platform for sharing practical knowledge and experiences. The Pie and AI Panel Discussions provided a space for guest speakers and experts to discuss the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the future of education and career opportunities, helping to open young minds and prepare them for the AI era.
The TKA Alumni Panel Discussion, held under the theme, “Beyond the Classroom: How Competitions, Leadership, and Extracurricular Activities Can Transform Your Future”, saw alumni sharing their firsthand experiences on how participating in out-of-school activities, facing failures, embracing leadership roles, and persevering in competitions expanded their potential, built their confidence, and opened doors to excellent career opportunities. This served as a crucial reminder that true capacity building and leadership stem from learning both inside and outside the classroom.
Tech for Kids Academy also officially introduced the TKA Alumni Platform. This dedicated platform is designed for our alumni to stay closely connected, share job opportunities, mentor the younger generation, and foster lifelong professional growth, ensuring a strong, supportive community for Cambodia’s future tech leaders.
The success of RISE Week 2026 is a testament to what can be achieved when the entire ecosystem unites under a shared vision to uplift the next generation. RISE Week 2026 demonstrated that when youth are provided with the right opportunities, guidance, and educational platforms, their capabilities and creativity are limitless.
