Cambodia's securities market recorded robust growth during the first half of 2026, with the Cambodia Securities Exchange (CSX) reporting record highs in active investors, trading activity and new account openings.

According to a report from CSX, the monthly average number of active investors reached 4,902 in the first semester of 2026, an increase of 64.38 per cent from 2,982 during the same period in 2025.

The average daily trading value in the first semester rose to 854 million riel (approximately USD 213,500), up 90.75 per cent from 448 million riel (around USD 112,000) in the same period of 2025.

The CSX attributed this stronger market performance to increased investor participation, the positive financial performance of listed companies, and attractive dividend payouts during the 2026 dividend distribution season.

The exchange said investor confidence helped lift the CSX Index by 7.7 per cent during the first semester, despite slight share price declines following dividend payments.

The report also highlighted improvements in trading convenience, including easier account opening, more efficient fund transfers, better access to market information and upgrades to the CSX Trade mobile platform.

A total of 5,587 new trading accounts were opened during the first half of 2026, reflecting sustained interest in Cambodia's capital market.
