Cambodia Tech Sprint Day, the first event under B2B Asia News’ national ‘Powered by Cambodia’ campaign, took place at the Factory Phnom Penh on July 31, 2026, gathering local entrepreneurs, startup founders, SME owners, innovators, students and technology professionals for a day of building practical tech skills and driving collective momentum for the Kingdom’s digital future.

The event featured an insightful morning session of specialised workshops focused on improving digital literacy and building digital skills led by key industry experts from BKD Academy, 2080 Ventures and PharmKulen. Participants gained actionable insights into everyday digital skills, ideation and vibe coding, and practical AI tools for small businesses.

In the afternoon, the Tech Marketplace exhibition gave attendees the chance to connect directly with over 20 digital startups and SMEs, tech companies and entrepreneurs. A special Innovation Showcase stage also featured ten leading digital tech innovators in Cambodia, who presented their digital solutions and products.

Opening the event, Anthony Galliano, Director of B2B Asia News, remarked on the digital transformation journey that Cambodia is going on, and how the Powered by Cambodia campaign hopes to support and promote key innovators in the local digital tech landscape

“When we first conceptualised Powered By Cambodia, we asked ourselves a fundamental question: What does the future of the Kingdom’s digital economy look like, and who is building it? The answer is standing in this room," said Galliano. "It is being coded in offices across Phnom Penh, deployed in local cloud servers, and integrated into small businesses across our provinces. Through Powered By Cambodia, we are stepping up to champion locally built technology, digital infrastructure, cloud solutions, and e-commerce platforms.”

Powered by Cambodia – The Digital Confidence Journey

At its core, the Powered by Cambodia campaign is a flagship six-month initiative spearheaded by B2B Asia News, with the support of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC), the CBRD Fund and Khmer Enterprise. The campaign seeks to champion local technology, foster cross-industry collaboration, and celebrate homegrown digital solutions. Designed as a movement to reshape perception and build confidence in domestic innovation, the campaign serves as a crucial bridge connecting Cambodian tech creators with corporate decision-makers, investors, and policymakers.

By showcasing locally engineered platforms, digital tools, and scalable business models, ‘Powered by Cambodia’ aims to prove that the Kingdom’s tech sector is not only capable of solving domestic market challenges, but is also increasingly equipped to compete on a regional scale.

As the first event under this multi-faceted campaign, Cambodia Tech Sprint Day set the pace for a structured roadmap of high-impact engagements scheduled over the next five months. These milestone events include:

  • Cambodia Data Trust Lab – a deep dive into local data centres and cloud infrastructure, answering the question, “Can Cambodia protect and manage its own data?”
  • My Digital Cambodia – a showcase of everyday digital tools, apps and services that seamlessly enrich daily life for Cambodians.
  • Cambodia Digital Sovereignty – a high-level public–private dialogue bringing together ministers, policymakers and industry titans to shape the policy framework for Cambodia’s sovereign digital future.
  • Cambodia Digital Talent Launchpad – an exciting live coding challenge targeting students and young developers, with the aim of highlighting software engineering and tech education programmes.
  • ‘Powered by Cambodia’ Experience Exhibition – the closing event for the campaign envisioned as a gallery-style exhibition recapping the outputs, stories, and breakthroughs of the six-month journey.

Reflecting on the successful launch and looking ahead to the campaign’s trajectory, Sarvinoz Nuritdinova, CEO of B2B Asia News, shared her optimism about Cambodia's digital future in her closing remarks.

“As we draw Cambodia Tech Sprint Day to a close, I am filled with immense optimism," she said. “Today, we were able to see the future of Cambodian technology in action. From our insightful specialised workshops, to the vibrant energy across the Tech Marketplace, we were able to see that Cambodia’s tech ecosystem is thriving, innovating, and ready to lead.”

“If today was the sprint, remember that we are running a marathon together. Cambodia Tech Sprint Day was just the first step in this six-month digital confidence journey. We have officially set the momentum for the Powered By Cambodia campaign in motion.”
