If you were given full authority for one year in your community or country, what is the first issue you would address?
If I am given full authority over my country or community for a year, the first thing I will do is implement a system to combat adulterated food. Because we all know that food is an absolutely important aspect of everyone's life. In a word, it is a basic need for life. Our body, brain and future are built by the food we eat every day. But now, when we come to reality, we see that food has become poison. It silently and gradually puts people on the death row. And after a while, we see premature death and there is no escape from it.
Due to adulterated food, children are getting sick, and many children are losing their lives prematurely. Young people are getting sick with various complex diseases, and the elderly are also getting sick quickly. And this is happening continuously. And this problem is not only a health problem but also an economic problem, so if I come to power, I would first introduce strict surveillance in the market, factories and supply chain so that people get safe food.
Why did you choose this issue over others?
Although there are many big problems in the country such as unemployment, poverty, education crisis, corruption, but the problem of adulterated food touches the root of all the problems and this is what I do. Because if a person is sick, he cannot work, he cannot study well, he cannot play a role in any good work in the family and society.
And because of this, the human body is destroyed, but people often do not even understand why they are sick and why this is happening to them. And in a way, it is very difficult to understand which one is adulterated and which one is good. Because those who produce food actually prepare it in such a way that no one will even understand that it is adulterated. Then these problems arise only after eating. And this is like a kind of silent murder. So I think that people should be kept healthy to build the country and strengthen the economy and move the society forward.
What is that one difficult decision you would have to make?
In fact, the most difficult decision to curb adulterated food would have been to take strict action against influential and big businessmen who syndicate and adulterate food and sell it under the name of a brand. And I would have demanded strict punishment for them. Many times, it is seen that big companies and well-known businessmen are involved in adulteration. And in our society, if we take action against them, there is a fear of political pressure, social backlash and economic loss. That is why many people do not want to take such steps. However, if I am given power, I will pay attention to that first.
I will have to decide against this that no one will be exempted under any circumstances. If it is proven, I would have decided to close the factory and cancel the license and keep the shop closed until it produces healthy, strong and good food. One more thing should be known that if the rich and poor are not equal in the eyes of the law, then this can never be done. So I would have demanded strict punishment from the administration as well. So that no exemption is made, no matter how big the businessman is.
How would you explain this decision to people who disagree with you?
Although many people will have various excuses and oppose such steps. For example, they may say that business will be damaged, employment will decrease, or that suddenly such strict rules cannot be followed. However, I would calmly explain to them that this decision is not to destroy business but to save people's lives. And saving lives is much more important than business because they will also have children and they will also grow up eating adulterated food, which will make their future dark.
I would say more clearly that honest businessmen have no reason to fear, because they have the right to do business honestly and only honest businessmen and good food suppliers will actually benefit from this decision. Because people will be willing to pay a little more for safe food in the market. I would also say that if we do not protest today, our children will have to pay a bigger price in the future with their health, life and money. So now is the time to change everything.
In fact, food and suppression of adulteration is not just an administrative decision, it is a human moral responsibility. I and everyone should come forward with such decisions from their respective places. Because people should be able to eat food safely and live in good health. I believe a healthy nation is the foundation of a strong country. So thank you all very much.
