E negli ultimi mesi abbiamo visto più volte come alcune dichiarazioni di Donald Trump abbiano influenzato il prezzo di azioni, Bitcoin, dollaro e altri asset finanziari.
Non è quindi difficile capire perché alcuni operatori siano disposti a pagare ( si parla di cifre intorno ai 100k dollari al mese) per ricevere quei messaggi il più velocemente possibile.
Il punto, secondo me, non è tanto il servizio in sé.
Il punto è chi lo offre.
Qui stiamo parlando delle comunicazioni del Presidente degli Stati Uniti, una figura le cui parole possono avere un impatto immediato sui mercati globali!
Non si tratta di capire se sia legale o meno. Bisogna chiedersi se sia opportuno.
E dal mio punto di vista, no, non lo è !
Credo che chi ricopre un ruolo istituzionale di questo livello dovrebbe garantire a tutti lo stesso momento di accesso a informazioni che possono influenzare i mercati.
E soprattutto non dovrebbe influenzare i mercati!
La fiducia nell'equità del sistema finanziario è un valore importante.
È vero che nella realtà, i grandi operatori già dispongono di strumenti, infrastrutture e tecnologie che i piccoli investitori non possono permettersi.
Ma trasformare anche le comunicazioni di un Presidente in un servizio premium lascia sicuramente spazio a qualche riflessione.
Certo per chi investe con una strategia di lungo periodo, quei millisecondi non cambiano nulla.
Per chi fa trading algoritmico, invece, possono fare una grande differenza.
Però vi chiedo se secondo voi sia opportuno che chi può permetterselo paghi per ricevere prima informazioni capaci di influenzare i mercati?
E soprattutto, è opportuno che un Presidente in carica possa offrire un servizio di questo tipo?
Comunque, il mio post vuole essere soltanto uno spunto di riflessione sull'equità dei mercati finanziari, non una presa di posizione politica.
