We Italians often complain about our public debt, which is huge, but someone is doing even worse: the United States’ public debt has reached a new record of around $39.5 trillion.

A number that is almost impossible to imagine.

Thirty-nine thousand five hundred billion dollars...

Of course, debt is not a new problem for the US, but with rising interest rates and higher financing costs, the sustainability of public finances is once again becoming a major topic of discussion.

And this is exactly where Bitcoin enters the picture.

You might be wondering: what does BTC have to do with all of this?

Senator Cynthia Lummis brought Bitcoin into the conversation. She continues to support the BITCOIN Act, a proposal that would create a strategic Bitcoin reserve for the United States through the purchase of 1 million BTC over five years. (Ref.)

But be careful! Let’s not celebrate too soon. This is only a proposal and does not mean that the United States will actually start buying Bitcoin.

However, my friends, the simple fact that a proposal like this is being discussed at the highest political levels would have been unimaginable just a few years ago.

Bitcoin has gone from being seen by many as a technological curiosity or a niche experiment to becoming a topic that is part of global financial discussions.

Of course, nobody knows what the future holds.

But it is interesting (and honestly quite satisfying) to see how, slowly, the way Bitcoin is perceived is changing.

Perhaps the true revolution of BTC is the fact that more and more people are starting to ask what role it could play in a financial system that has to deal with debt, inflation, and new economic challenges.

Bitcoin will probably never completely replace the traditional financial system, but since its creation, it has challenged the way we look at finance like never before, forcing us to ask new questions.

As they say… only time will tell.

Thanks for reading my post.
