Ms. Nong Limheang has spent over a decade braving storms and the perils of the sea to protect natural resources and the livelihoods of fishermen in the Chroy Svay community, Koh Kong province. Starting as an advocate for fishery conservation to prevent the destruction of marine life, she has now risen to become the head of the Chroy Svay Fishing Community for the fifth mandate (2024-2029). Her journey and leadership serve as a powerful testament that women can excel at the forefront of environmental protection and community resource management, even in challenging environments.
