On the morning of July 10, 2024, the Pursat Provincial Department of Information, in collaboration with the Provincial Department of Education, Youth, and Sports, launched an awareness campaign titled 'Say No to Fake News.' The event was held at Hun Sen Kandieng Secondary and High School, with more than 1,000 teachers and students in attendance. The campaign aims to educate students on the dangers of disinformation and the importance of digital literacy. During the session, officials provided guidance on how to verify information before sharing it on social media platforms to avoid causing public confusion or social disorder. By focusing on the younger generation, the provincial authorities hope to build a community of responsible social media users who can distinguish between factual reporting and fabricated content. This initiative is part of a broader effort to maintain peace and stability by combating the spread of malicious news online.
