The Cambodian government has officially filed a protest against Thailand's construction of a border fence in Chanthaburi province, which borders Cambodia’s Battambang province. The construction project has reportedly reached 45% completion in its initial phase, spanning approximately 1.3 kilometers. The State Secretariat of Border Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have asserted that the Khnar Temple, which is being enclosed by the Thai fence, is located within Cambodian territory. International relations experts suggest that Thailand is utilizing military positioning and diplomatic maneuvers to assert control over disputed zones. Meanwhile, some observers have criticized the Cambodian government for its perceived "soft" diplomatic approach, raising questions about what further actions Cambodia should take to protect its sovereignty and halt unilateral border activities.
