Metfone, in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, has launched "My Village, My Food", a nationwide digital tourism campaign designed to elevate Cambodia’s village tourism, celebrate authentic local cuisine, and strengthen the Kingdom’s digital presence.

The strategic public-private initiative was formalised through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on September 8, 2026.

Combining the tourism ministry’s national tourism vision with Metfone’s nationwide connectivity, the campaign highlights lesser-known destinations, empowers local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and fosters sustainable economic development across regional communities.

As the strategic digital partner, Metfone is producing and distributing a seven-episode digital series spotlighting regional chefs, authentic culinary heritage, tourism operators, and community stories across seven Cambodian provinces.

H.E. Hout Hak, Minister of Tourism, highlighted the campaign’s role in leveraging soft power and youth engagement:

“Gastronomy is an essential part of Cambodia’s tourism identity and soft power. 'My Village, My Food' represents more than a food promotion campaign – it is an opportunity to empower Cambodians, particularly young content creators, to become ambassadors for their own communities. By leveraging digital platforms to tell authentic stories about our hometowns and culture, this partnership between the Ministry of Tourism and Metfone will support local businesses, inspire domestic travel, and strengthen Cambodia’s image as a safe, culturally rich destination.”

Cao Manh Duc, CEO of Metfone, emphasised the company's long-term commitment to national development:

“As the digital economy opens new avenues for growth, tourism has become a vital bridge connecting local identity with global value. For Metfone, this initiative reflects our core belief that sustainable corporate growth must go hand in hand with the development of the nation. Through 'My Village, My Food,' we are leveraging technology and mobile connectivity to bring Cambodia's rich cultural values closer to travelers while generating tangible benefits for local communities.”
