Clean Energy Week 2026 Concludes, Charting Cambodia's Path Toward a More Secure Energy Future

Clean Energy Week (CEW) 2026 concluded on September 21, 2026, having charted a pathway toward a more energy secure and economically resilient Cambodia. 

The week closed with “Powering Forward: Celebrating Cambodia's Clean Energy Leaders”, an event recognising the collective efforts and partnerships driving Cambodia's clean energy agenda.

H.E. Hem Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation, said Cambodia’s clean-energy transition is increasingly linked to the country’s industrial and technological transformation.

“Clean energy should not be viewed as an additional cost, but as an enabler of the next generation of Cambodian industry,” said Minister Vanndy. “It should help our enterprises produce more efficiently, compete more effectively, create quality jobs and strengthen Cambodia’s economic resilience.”

Reflecting on the week's successes, Chargé d’Affaires of the Australian Embassy in Cambodia, Bridget Collier, said:

“This year's Clean Energy Week showed that clean energy is no longer only an environmental imperative. It is increasingly central to Cambodia's energy security, economic resilience and long-term competitiveness. The momentum generated this week reinforces the importance of continued collaboration to turn ambition into action.”

Underscoring the importance of accelerating clean energy adoption, Natharoun Ngo Son, EnergyLab Asia’s Regional Director, said, “Cambodia is no longer asking whether clean energy is possible. We're asking how far we will take it, and how much economic value we can create from it."

A highlight of CEW 2026 was the Clean Energy Awards, which recognised outstanding contributions from individuals, organisations, and initiatives driving Cambodia's clean energy progress. Winners included:

• Cleantech Award: Agro Agape
• Most Impactful Clean Energy Project Award: Smoke Free Village Project, SNV

Clean Energy Week is an annual event that showcases success stories, best practices, technical innovations, and policy analysis to accelerate the clean energy transition in Cambodia. It convenes government policymakers, development partners, civil society, and private sector leaders to foster collaboration, while raising public awareness of clean energy among a broad local audience.
