La French Tech Phnom Penh is launching “Rendez-Vous Tech”, a new initiative designed to create more opportunities for entrepreneurs, startups, companies and technology professionals to meet, exchange ideas and build practical connections within Cambodia’s growing digital ecosystem.

A New Platform for Tech Community Connections

The first Rendez-Vous Tech will take place from September 11–13, 2026, alongside La French Tech Phnom Penh’s participation in the 3rd Cambodia Digital Trade Forum and Online Expo, organised by the Ministry of Commerce at the Koh Pich Expo, Phnom Penh.

Rendez-Vous Tech is intended to become a recurring format for the technology and startup community — creating a simple and accessible space for conversations, introductions, knowledge sharing and potential collaboration.

A High-Profile Forum for Cambodia’s Digital Economy

The Digital Trade Forum brings together a wide range of institutional and private-sector leaders, underscoring the strategic weight of the event for Cambodia’s digital economy. The Opening Ceremony will be addressed by H.E. Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce, alongside remarks from Vijay Kumar Akasam, Country Operations Head for Cambodia at the Asian Development Bank (ADB), a representative of the U.S. Embassy, and Kensuke Tsuchiya, President of Toyota (Cambodia).

The programme also includes a High-Level Dialogue on “Cambodia’s Digital Trade Infrastructure Towards 2030”, featuring the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC), the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC), and Neak Oknha Sear Rithy, Founder and Chairman of WorldBridge International Group — as well as a Cambodia–U.S.–U.K. Joint Networking Reception held with the British and U.S. Embassies.

By maintaining a dedicated presence throughout the three days, La French Tech Phnom Penh positions itself within this high-level institutional and diplomatic setting, reinforcing its role as a connector between Cambodia’s public institutions, international partners and the local tech ecosystem.

From Meetings to Meaningful Connections

Rendez-Vous Tech is built around a straightforward principle: useful connections often begin with a conversation. The initiative aims to encourage more direct interaction among people building, investing in and supporting technology and startups in Cambodia.

Through regular meet-ups and community activities, La French Tech Phnom Penh intends to provide opportunities to discover new projects, exchange experiences, identify potential partners and strengthen the wider startup ecosystem.

“Rendez-Vous Tech is about bringing people together," said Thierry Tea. "We want to create regular opportunities for entrepreneurs, startups and technology professionals to meet, exchange ideas and discover potential opportunities to work together. Having already joined the Digital Trade Forum as a speaker last year, I see the Forum as a natural place to continue this initiative and connect with the community in person. The goals of the Digital Trade Forum and French Tech Phnom Penh are fully aligned, making this a strong platform to foster meaningful connections and collaboration.”
