The Cambodia National Cybersecurity Competition 2026 (CNCC 2026) officially opened on August 15 in Phnom Penh, providing a platform for participants to demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and ability to address challenges in the field of cybersecurity. As a Diamond Sponsor of the competition, Metfone contributes to connecting corporate resources with initiatives aimed at developing cybersecurity talent and human resources in Cambodia.
The competition is organised by the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications of Cambodia (MPTC) at Oakwood Premier Phnom Penh, against the backdrop of growing demand for data protection, digital infrastructure security, and information security amid the country’s ongoing digital transformation.
Prior to the national round, Cyber Arena 2026, an online competition organized by the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications on June 27, attracted 157 teams and 547 participants from government agencies, private organisations, and educational institutions. After eight hours of competition, the Organising Committee selected the top three teams, 30 outstanding teams, and 10 reserve teams. The top three teams and 30 outstanding teams subsequently advanced to the national competition in August.

At the opening ceremony, a Metfone representative emphasised that as digital technologies continue to develop rapidly, the need to protect data, digital infrastructure, and information security is becoming increasingly important. According to the company representative, building cybersecurity capacity requires a comprehensive approach that addresses both technology and people, with skilled, knowledgeable, and adaptable human resources playing a critical role.
As a Diamond Sponsor, Metfone supports CNCC 2026, demonstrating the company’s commitment to initiatives that strengthen cybersecurity capabilities and develop human resources in the cybersecurity sector in Cambodia.
The Metfone representative also highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration among regulatory authorities, businesses, educational institutions, experts, and the younger generation in developing cybersecurity capabilities. Professional competitions such as CNCC not only provide young people with opportunities to test their abilities, but also facilitate knowledge exchange, skills development, and greater preparedness to address real-world cybersecurity challenges.

The organisation of CNCC 2026 creates a platform for connecting the technology community with government agencies, organisations, and young technology talent. Through competition and networking activities, participants have the opportunity to test their knowledge, sharpen their skills, and gain exposure to the practical requirements of the cybersecurity field.
The support of technology companies, including Metfone as a Diamond Sponsor, contributes additional resources to activities that promote networking, knowledge exchange, and cybersecurity talent development. Through the competition, participants gain further opportunities to strengthen their professional capabilities, gain practical experience, and gradually prepare for the increasingly demanding requirements of the digital environment.
CNCC 2026 contributes to encouraging the younger generation to explore and pursue careers in cybersecurity, thereby supporting the development of a skilled workforce for Cambodia’s digital transformation.
