Banan District Administration says it has banned all sales of alcohol at the important religious site of Phnom Sampov.
From July 25, 2024 onwards, the Banan district administration has instructed traders not to sell all kinds of alcohol on the streets in front of Preah Ang Thom and in Phnom Sampov pagoda. Phnom Sampov Keut village, Phnom Sampov commune, Banan district, Battambang province.
The administration state that people in the area support the above measures because the Phnom Sampov tourist resort is a place of worship for the general public according to religious traditions.
Phnom Sampov (Khmer: ភ្នំសំពៅ, also spelled Phnom Sampeau) is a limestone mountain and important religious site located in Battambang Province.
